AirAsia to open two new routes linking Thailand and Indonesia, namely Jakarta, Medan, Phuket and Phuket.

The airline is offering special low rates for an online purchase through the Rp199 thousand to flight from Jakarta to Phuket and Medan-Rp99 thousand to Phuket.
While for the owners of AirAsia credit card HSBC additional benefit namely Rp99 thousand for the route from Jakarta to Phuket and Medan-Rp49 thousand to Phuket. Reservation period began November 4 to 9, 2009 for travel December 3 2009-30 April 2010.
New Route”would also increase the traffic of international tourists from Jakarta and Medan to Phuket and vice versa,”he said.
According to him, the route will prove it as the ASEAN-owned airline and strengthen the company’s mission is to connect Asia with other parts of the world.
Previously, the airline that serves more than 130 routes it already serves routes from Jakarta to Bangkok and Bali-Bangkok. Two new routes will be operated from the flight center (hub) of new, Phuket International Airport in Thailand.
Ambassador of Thailand, YM. Akrasid Amatayakul, said it welcomed AirAsia’s move to open new routes. ”This will bring both countries closer and promote trade and tourism industries in the two countries,”he said.
He argues, Jakarta is one of the centers of tourism and trade is growing rapidly and the largest trading center in Southeast Asia. While Singapore is the commercial center for western Indonesia, while Phuket is a dream destination for people in foreign countries.
