Malate & Ermita; Backpackers Haven
Travel To Phillipines March 16th, 2010

Look for inexpensive lodging among luxury hotels in Manila is not a problem. Malate and Ermita districts of the flashy, located close to each other, and each other are separated by roads. For the backpacker class, most have a label “Pensionne” is the average of the old building. Look for halal food, need a little more observant, you know, most food sold contains ‘pork’. Near the MH Del Pilar street, there are several kosher restaurants marked with Arabic writing on the front. Also a small mosque, air-conditioned right in front of Pizza Hut. If pingin eat at franchise restaurants such as Mc D’s or find an ATM, Robinson’s Mall building at street Adriatico, on the other side there is also a travel agency & money changer. Minimarket like 7-eleven there are also some.
The district passed Jeepney transport to some majors. Want to even further out, there LRT Station. Want to recreation, live walking distance to Manila Bay, Rizal Park, or to Intramuros (the town in the castle) which is famous.
Off the evening, the atmosphere in this region a new look original. Sparkling colored lights began to glow. Sidewalk cafe chairs and started to spread a quarter of the table in the road. Bars, discos, and massage parlors began bustling visitors. Loud thump of music in the cafes, out through the big speakers deliberately placed on the sidewalk.
The girls dressed in tight and sexy in front mejeng nightclubs await guests. This area also turned out to be “Red-light district” of his Manila. But not all hotels / hostels in this area contributed to immoral business success. In one of the guest house where I was staying, the owner had warned the occupants with a warning “No Sex Tourism Here” on the bulletin board. But who the hell, who could watch activity in the room?
