Manila, as the metropolis not much different with Jakarta. Pollution, traffic, homeless, crime and other social problems is the mirror of a major city in the developing world in general. One time I took a bus across town, on the bus a little girl handing out a packet of sweets to each passenger, I think this is a free snacks for passengers, but the sweets wrapped in paper stuck to the contents of which appeal to passengers to buy sweets to help defray living the little girl who dropped out of school.
Every passing pengerah offices of labor, I always see long queues of people who took a job application folder, hoping to be accepted overseas employment. Understandably, the Philippines also compete with our country in terms of labor export.
Several times to read reviews from the Internet about the journey of the backpackers, many mention the legendary crime in the city of Manila. Perhaps because of the high crime rate, level guards minimarket had a gun in the waist. But every place is different, certainly interesting to watch.
