The Pavilion Kuala Lumpur
Travel to Malaysia December 17th, 2009
There is an alternative shopping mall and a new addition to KLCC which is also close to Kuala Lumpur city center, called The Pavilion. Present in early 2008, The Pavilion is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, namely Jalan Bukit Bintang which is Roadnya Orchard Kuala Lumpur.
To me, The Pavilion is a more attractive alternative than KLCC. KLCC for me was too general, sometimes crowded with tourists on week end days, while The Pavilion atmosphere and the atmosphere is fresher, and more importantly the crowd is more upper class people less than KLCC.
Interesting place for me is the name The Food Republic. As the name implies, Food Republic food court is very broad and provides a variety of foods both local and international branded branded. There is also a donut shop owned by Salon from Indonesia taikun of JCO Donuts. JCO Donuts proved very popular also in Kuala Lumpur, looks very long queue every day. Read the rest of this entry »
Shopping in Bukit Bintang Area
Travel to Malaysia December 17th, 2009
Malaysia is always not to be outdone by Singapore. Singapore has LRT train (Light Rapid Transit), Malaysia also made LRT, Singapore has Orchard Road, Malaysia also made Bukit Bintang. Anyway, Malaysia did not want to lose to Singapore. Good thing’s healthy competition, so we-we as tourists will increasingly.
Bukit Bintang is located in the golden triangle of Kuala Lumpur’s strategic location as close to the Petronas Towers and KLCC shopping center also with tourists like China Town and Central Market. I’m here to try to cover some fairly popular mall in Bukit Bintang area of which is Sungei Wang, Low Yat Plaza, Berjaya Times Square and Lot 10. Actually there are two malls, but less popular, namely BB Mall and Imbi Plaza. There is also a new mall, but I’ve written before, The Pavilion, located at around Bukit Bintang, too.

Sell Gift Shop in Complex Kraf (Craft Complex)
Travel to Malaysia December 15th, 2009
Kompleks Budaya Kraf is one place in Kuala Lumpur for shopping and learning about the paraphernalia of art / culture such as Malaysia, sarongs, batik, painting and various kinds of handicraft. If possible place in Jakarta this can be equated with Sarinah Thamrin 4th floor, but it felt better in Sarinah Thamrin deh things.
Kraf Complex is located in the golden triangle of Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Bintang, so if you live around Bukit Bintang would not hurt to stop by here. The few things that you can see here include:
Craft Museum
In this museum you can see Malaysia’s cultural history by using the diorama as a medium. Here you can also see the traditional tools used to produce art works of Malaysia. Read the rest of this entry »
Swim and Play at Sunway Lagoon Theme Park
Travel to Malaysia December 14th, 2009
Sunway Lagoon Theme Park is an outdoor playground in Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur. One of the theme park that I visited when it was the water park. For those who’ve been to water parks in Jakarta, such as Water Boom or water park in Ancol would not be familiar with the atmosphere at the water park is Sunway Lagoon. The area around Sunway Lagoon is also an Indonesian student area, no wonder if in some mall Sunway Lagoon many restaurants scattered Indonesia.
I came to Sunway Lagoon about day three after Lebaran in the year 2008. I think the Lebaran day entertainment venues in Kuala Lumpur would not seramai as in Jakarta. Apparently I missed expectations, this place is like cendol, tourists from many countries, particularly countries Middle East and Indonesia numplek all together. Almost in every place at Sunway Lagoon I hear people speak with accent Jakarta. I feel like at Ancol and not in Kuala Lumpur, beneran!
Unfortunately I was right there was some entertainment facilities being renovated, so I can not try some of the attractions at the water park. A fairly interesting place for me is the artificial beach where people can play the surf and sand play, and there is also a place where we can surf with artificial waves. Maybe because I’m used to go to taman2 water in Jakarta, Sunway Lagoon is a taste less gregetnya. Malaysia is just my opinion promote good at, perhaps because of his many Chinese people, well, smart sales? Read the rest of this entry »
