Jerudong Park is the largest amusement park in Southeast Asia. Located about 10 km from the city of Bandar Seri Begavan near Jerudong beach in Brunei. Jerudong Park opened in 1994 as a gift from the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. Covers an area of 104 ha. Owned attractions most visited in this country. Brunei is on the island of Borneo and has an area bordered by Sarawak from west to east, and bordering the South China Sea to the north. Meanwhile, the country consists of two parts that are not interrelated. In the western part of the wider region is inhabited by 97% of the total population of about 383,000, while in eastern mountainous region and is called the Temburong district, only approximately 10,000 citizens.
Government of this country’s constitutional monarchy patterned with Sultan served as Head of State and Heads of Government of Prime Minister and concurrently Minister of Defense who is assisted by the Advisory Board of the Sultanate and some Ministers. Brunei Darussalam’s economy which relies on oil and gas makes this country has a national income which includes the world’s high. Currency units, Brunei dollar, has the same value with the Singapore Dollar. No wonder the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah is also known as one of the richest people in the world with a fortune estimated at around 400 trillion rupiah.
In terms of history, actually Brunei once closely associated with Indonesia. Even Brunei had entered the territory of Sriwijaya and Majapahit. But when King Hayam Wuruk died, Brunei freeing itself as an independent country. England’s arrival has made Brunei a country under the protection of the British Empire in 1888. After a long history of this country, finally on January 4, 1979, Brunei and the United Kingdom signed a Treaty of Cooperation and Friendship, which continues in full independence of Brunei Darussalam on January 1, 1984.
State of Brunei Darussalam has four districts, namely: Brunei / Muara District where the capital of Brunei-Bandar Seri Begawan-being. The second is the Tutong District, consisting of forests and plantations. Then Belait, one of the most modern district, where the oil industry is located. Last is the Temburong District, the most isolated places in the Eastern region and separated from the whole of Brunei.
